Lawrence Muiruri Ngugi is the serving Registrar/Chief Executive, Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. He is an arbitrator and accredited mediator, previously a served as Chief State Counsel (Head of Commercial Litigation & Arbitration), member of Kenya’s representatives to the UNCITRAL Working Group II Arbitration & Conciliation and Working Group III Online Dispute Resolution. He has handled high profile, complex litigation, arbitration and international investor-state disputes under the ICC, UNCITRAL and ICSID rules.

He is a holder of a BA (Hons) Econ, LLB degrees and MA (International Studies), and a Research fellow of the East China University of Politics and Law. Victor Amos Ochieng Ogunyo is the Centre’s Manager-Corporate Support Services. He oversees the Human Resource Management & Administration, Legal Affairs, Finance & Accounts, Procurement and Information Communication & Technology units.

Victor has ten (10) years of managerial experience in different capacities in the public sector. He is adept in financial management, policy formulation, strategy development, performance management and financial compliance.  Victor is a qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in internal audit, team leadership and organizational development.

He is a holder of an MBA in Strategic Management (Africa Nazarene University) Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Administration and Management (Daystar University), Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (CHRM), Certificate in Measuring and Monitoring Enterprise Value (Esami) and Certified Public Accountant (ICPAK)

Millicent Musanga Shitakha is the Centre’s Manager-Business Development. She oversees the Corporate Strategy, Capacity building, Communication & Marketing and Client Relations units.

Millicent is an experienced strategist with thirteen (13) years of experience having worked for various government agencies. She is skilled in Marketing & Communication, Policy development and Strategic planning, Partnership management, Research, Capacity building, Quality management and Performance Management.

She is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and MBA (Finance) both from the University of Nairobi. In addition she has had professional development in Product development and restructuring, Website management, Leadership and Corporate Governance, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and Information Management System implementation amongst others.

Barbara Wachia Kilei

Senior Case Counsel, Barbara assists the Registrar in the administration of disputes filed with Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Barbara is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a certified mediator having worked in both the Private and Public Sector.

Dennis Macharia Karanja is the Centre’s Senior Internal Auditor. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is currently pursuing a Master of Science (Finance) degree at the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Dennis has extensive experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Risk management and Financial Management. Prior to joining NCIA, he worked in various positions with Action Aid International, United Bank for Africa, Family Bank Kenya, among others.
