Jemimah Keli

Ms. Keli is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya of over 18 years post-admission experience, an Arbitrator (MCIArb), Mediator, and a part-time lecturer at the Kenya School of Law (KSL). She is also gazetted as a conciliator of labour disputes with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Government of Kenya, and a Mediator with the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA- Kenya).

Prior to embarking on teaching at the School of Law and private legal practice at Keli & Associates Advocates, she served as an Assisting Counsel at the Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board, a Program Officer (Ethics and Compliance) at the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), and a Senior State Counsel at Civil Litigation at the State Law Office. She is also an active trainer with the LSK on trial advocacy skills in their Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPD).

She is widely published on the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Journal on Alternative Dispute Resolution and the LSK CPD Digest. In practice, she has sat in ten arbitral tribunals, and in three of those, as the Chairperson. She has also mediated over thirty commercial disputes under the Court Annexed Mediation programme at the Judiciary in Kenya.

Ms. Keli holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from KSL and an Advanced Certificate in Domestic Arbitration from CIArb.
