Millicent Musanga Shitakha

Millicent Musanga Shitakha is the Deputy Director, Planning and Strategy at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration (NCIA). In this senior leadership role, she provides strategic direction in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Centre’s Strategic Plan, annual Performance Contracts, corporate policies, and institutional frameworks. She leads the Planning & Strategy Department in strengthening organizational performance, advancing institutional reforms, and ensuring alignment with national development priorities.
Millicent is a seasoned Strategic Planning and Policy Development expert with more than twenty (20) years of progressive experience across various government agencies. Her extensive expertise spans Strategic Planning, Policy Formulation, Partnership Management, Strategic Research, Communication and Marketing, Capacity Building, Quality Management, Performance Management, and Business Process Re engineering. She has a proven track record of transforming strategy into operational results, strengthening institutional systems, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Millicent holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and an MBA (Finance), both from the University of Nairobi. She is a Full Member of the Economists Society of Kenya. She has further undertaken professional development in Implementation of the Global Agenda 2030, International Commercial Arbitration, Mediation, Product Development and Restructuring, Leadership and Corporate Governance, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, and Information Management Systems Implementation, Risk Management among others.
With her deep strategic insight, leadership excellence, and commitment to institutional strengthening, Millicent continues to spearhead initiatives that position NCIA as a Centre of excellence in arbitration and dispute resolution.
